The Navy Day celebrations including the operational demo (Op Demo) on the picturesque beach road here has been postponed to December 10 due to the cyclone threat.

As part of Navy Day, rehearsals will be conducted on December 8. The naval authorities have already completed massive barricading all along the beachfront. Navy Day is celebrated every year on December 4 to commemorate India’s win during the 1971 Indo-Pak War as part of Operation Trident. The Navy has put all personnel and platforms on high State of readiness and is fully prepared to undertake any Humanitarian Relief and Disaster Relief Operations, if the need arises, a naval spokesman said on Sunday.
